This Year's Guest Artists Showing at the
Pottery Boys Studio in Palm Harbor
30 Bogie Lane, Palm Harbor, FL 34683
Ellen ColeThis will be Ellen's final year showing her work at the Pottery Boys Studio stop on the Tour so make sure you stop by to see her this year!! Ellen has always created art pieces and has explored many mediums throughout the years but 15 years ago had to give up her work in clay and transition to making jewelry out of precious metal clay, continuing many of the handbuilding skills she had explored in her more traditional clay works.
Ellen's jewelry is larger than you might think from the photographs, each of them include semi-prescious cabochons. Each cabochon's color, texture, and shape inspire her creations of decorative, figurative, and critter focused jewelry pieces. |
Eric Doctors (new to Tour this year)I am an explorer of human experience and seek to weave ideas together across a multitude of disciplines: mathematics, philosophy, architecture, and storytelling. I am curious about how we make sense of and navigate the world we live in. For me, it starts with the universal language of mathematics expressed through geometry and color.
Shapes, patterns, and forms are at once both captivating and timeless; they distill complexity down to the essence. Geometric designs are prevalent across history and cultures; they are the repositories and conveyors of shared meaning – from inspiring baroque cathedrals to ancient mandalas. |
Richard Wehrs (new to Tour this year)Richard is new this year and is traveling from Illinois to share his amazing sculptural works with us.
His quirky earthenware faces and figures are hand-build and one-of-a-kind, rich in textures and patterns, with bright, layered colors. They are bisque- and glaze-fired to 1944 degrees F, using underglazes and, occasionally, non-ceramic materials and objects. His pieces are colorful, playful characters that engage and captivate with their wild expressions and unexpected narratives. Inspired by B-movie villains, aliens, monsters and superheroes (and everyday life situations!), they're a delightful mix of creepy and cute. |
Keith HerbrandKeith's focus is functional work made out of a fine porcelain and then finishes each piece with a variety of crystalline glazes.
He enjoys exploring new forms and shapes that he envisions being used in everyday living. Keith continues to experiment with various color combinations and firing techniques to add variety and a slightly different voice to his work each year. |
Steve Howell (returning guest artist)Steven Howell spent most of his clay career making beautiful functional pottery and has recently shifted to beautiful decorative pieces that have a spiritual quality to them. Steven has also introduced woven copper structures to many of his pieces - a quite involved process. Make sure you ask him about how he creates his copper structures.

Tim Peters (returning guest artist)Tim works exclusively with a fine porcelain. Each piece is intricately carved with patterns of trees and other scenes from nature. Each piece is beautifully translucent. Tim creates beautiful bowls, vases, decorative vessels, hanging pendant lights as well as wall pieces that are beautifully designed and intricately carved - a must see!!

Maryann Charmoz (new to Pottery Boys Studio this year)While Maryann is relatively new to clay, she has a long and rich history in the art world. She has 30+ years in mural and oil painting experience, she has a BFA in film animation from RISD, children’s book illustrator, designer of wine and ice cream products, board game creator and designer.
All of these creative ventures have led me to the wonderous world of ceramics. I have had the pleasure of studying ceramics from some of the most experienced artists locally and beyond. Glenn Woods, Ira Burhans, ShiyuanXu, Justin D’Onofrio, Hayne Bayless, and a host of others. Currently, I am the clay studio manager at the Dunedin Fine Art Center where I teach classes in porcelain paper clay, surface decoration and hand building. |
Glenn WoodsGlenn Woods creates decorative and functional work out of a fine porcelain and finishes his work with layers of crystalline glazes. While his passion is making a variety of bottle forms, he enjoys altering, carving, and adding beading to his work to add a unique twist to an otherwise simple form.
